My Brother Buster
/See the sleepy pup on the left? He is now the gentle giant on the right. He is large, loveable, and a Lashbrook. My parents got Buster (he is a golden-doodle) back in the fall and they are smitten with him. We all are, really. Buster may bowl us over when we visit but we love him. I am always posting photos of Wally and wanted to give Buster his turn in the spotlight. These a few pictures of Buster's puppy-hood part one if you will. Happy Saturday!
Buster and Wally hugged the first time they met. Then the playing/fighting began.
Baby Will: Nicholasville Children's Photography
/Babies! I have had a few newborn sessions this winter before wedding season starts and they have been such blessings. I understand the phrase "bundle of joy" more with each one. These babies are little miracles and William is no exception. He is beautiful and brings his folks a lot of happiness! We have our first wedding of the season this weekend. Gabe and I are ready to get going. We have some of the most amazing couples and are excited to photograph their big day. We came away from WPPI (our Vegas adventure) feeling inspired and refreshed. I feel very encouraged as a unique artist and love being a wedding photographer more than ever.
Here are a couple things we plan in doing this year:
- Revamping our website
- Providing potential brides with an HHP Wedding Catalog
- Mary's 101 - next week!
- Offering a couple new albums
- Antiquing and going to yard sales for props (I may have to bribe Gabe to do this with me)
Ashley Kate & Andy: Shakertown Engagement Session
/Gabe and I are home after an incredible trip out west. We decided to attend the Wedding and Portrait Photographers International Convention in Las Vegas (WPPI 2012). I feel like I am about to explode. I learned so much and feel so refreshed even though we hardly slept. My dreams and goals for our business are bigger than ever now and I am excited to share them with you. For now, here is a little Thursday night treat for you. No really, there are sweet treats in these pictures and they were delicious.
Valentine's Day
/Today is Valentine's Day. All around the world people have received notes, cards, flowers, and candy. All over the globe romance is newly kindling, hotly burning, steadily smoldering, dimly flickering, or hopefully longing. And there is such beauty in all of those states. Today is the one day all around the world that Love is celebrated. And that is a great thing.
One of the great things about being wedding photographers is that we get to celebrate love all year. Weddings are a sort of grand Valentine's Day - dedicated to the couple's love and commitment. And we are so honored to document them, in all their emotion.
We hear a lot of God's Word read at these wedding ceremonies - which is great - and we hear none more than 1 Corinthians 13 - the Love Chapter.
Most of us have heard this passage seemingly a million times - but today seems like an appropriate day to revisit this powerful verse about Real Love.
So today, wether you are celebrating Valentine's Day with a spouse, girlfriend/boyfriend, friends, or just you and your ice-cream - know that Love is more than romance, more than chocolates and flowers and sweet nothings - it's about simply loving people, wholly, patiently, joyfully.
Here's a great song we've been singing for a while...
