That's it!  We will draw a name on Friday afternoon and let you know who won!  By the way, I have to say I got this idea for the raffle from Kelly Moore.  I met her at a workshop I attended last year.  She is very talented, has the most beautiful camera bags, and is having a giveaway in this style right now.  I entered her contest and just had to have my own giveaway.  Good luck and have a wonderful week!

Merry Christmas

I waited until the last minute to shop for Christmas gifts this year.  I worked hard to get everything edited and it brought me to the last couple days before Christmas.  But I am DONE.  For a week.  I am so happy. I have gone to the mall everyday this week as soon as it opened.  Now that's the time to shop;  when the sales associates are drinking still-hot coffee in travel mugs from behind just-straightened counters. It was the mall-walkers, moms in fur-lined vests, and me.  The moms and I had a good idea, I think, arriving early.  We walked swiftly from store to store (with the mall-walkers), lists in hand, and got it DONE.  I had a lot of fun.  I am a girl.  I love to shop.

This is my first Christmas as a wife. My favorite thus far.  I want to tell you what I got Gabe.  There is something wonderful and peaceful about giving gifts to people you love.  Even a small gift takes thought and sacrifice.

We are spending the week with both families and I can't wait to kick back, drink hot chocolate, and eat casseroles.  Sometimes I have a difficult time stopping and resting, but family and friends are worth it!  So Merry Christmas to you!

Gabe just gave me this beautiful sweater below.  We couldn't wait and we opened a gift.  It's the 23rd.

It is so close!

Well, I wanted to post at least one more time before mine and Gabe's big day.  I'm not sure I'll be able to blog again within the next couple weeks with all the wedding preparations in full force.  We still have to finalize a lot of decor details, get a marriage license, pick people up from the airport, etc.  It is all so much fun and so crazy at the same time.  I must have 100 thoughts going through my head all the time, or that's how I feel. By the way, yes, I will post plenty of pictures on the blog ASAP.  I want you all to see them!! Gabe and I are headed to California for our honeymoon and will be back in business on June 21st.  So I will be out of the office until then.  If you have a photo emergency, email me and I will get back to you if it is before May 25th.  I still have a few odds and ends to take care of (a shoot and a consultation and three weddings!) but I am very excited about not working and focusing on the wedding!  Here are a few pictures, describing life at the moment.  There is another reason we are running around like crazy, headless chickens.  Check it out! These are my wedding shoes.  I love them! Well, look at all those boxes behind my awesome shoes...

One of the reasons we are so busy is because we are packing!  Because we bought a house yesterday!

Here it is!  We are happy homeowners.

Our friends, Joe and Natalie, came over to visit after we closed.  These are their boys, Noah and Benjamin.

Noah and I are close buds.

We are so excited about our house.  Once I get married, moved, and settled I will post some more photos!  Wahoo!  Have a great weekend!

Mary and Gabe are engaged!

Here are some of our engagement pictures, hot off the press!  I must say, it is weird being in front of the camera, posing, for your our engagement shoot.  You really have to trust your photographer!  Hehe.  And we trust ours and he delivered!  Andy Olsen is fabulous and I cannot wait for he and Erika to shoot the big day.   Our shoot helped me realize why engagement shoots are so significant.  They are little practice rounds for the wedding day.  I think it is important to be ready for the camera so the "day of" goes as smoothly as possible (PS - the last four pictures were done by Natalie Hagen). My wedding is only four weeks away and it is still so odd that I am the BRIDE.  I have loved this engagement season.  Has it been stressful?  Yes.  Did I take on too many DIY projects?  Yes.  Am I beginning to lose sleep at night, thinking about all the details?  Yes.  However, spending so much time with friends and family and Gabe has been a blast and a complete blessing. I woudn't trade it for anything in the world (except being married).  28 days!

They have arrived!

My wedding invitations are here!  I love them.  They are from Hello! Lucky and they are awesome!  I am only including a little snippet of a picture because I don't want to ruin the ohhs and ahhs when the postman delivers the little beauties. How are wedding plans going, you might ask?  Swimmingly.  Here's the latest (we are 52 days out!):

1. Gabe and I measured Highbridge Pavilion (the reception site) the other day to figure out how many lights we need.  If you are getting married out there and need all the measurements, let me know.

2. I found awesome shoes at Macy's the other day.  They are purple, just sayin.  I am still on the hunt for the perfect earrings.

3. Last weekend I headed to IKEA (and then Anthropologie!) with my friend, Lizbeth, and we bought the favors.  I am going to keep those on the DL for now.

4. And dad is buying a lot of wood for the centerpieces.

5. Our engagement shoot was the other day and it was so fun!  Hooray and yikes for being on the other side of the camera.  Props to all my brides who become models for me out there.

6. We have had two showers thus far.  Very fun.  I'm sorry I haven't posted pictures yet.

Cryptic, I know.  But I don't to tell you too much.  Some stuff just has to be a surprise!
