Carly & Tony: Lexington Engagements

This engagement shoot is a great reason to schedule your photos for late evening, around 7:30pm this time of year.  As the sun sets, the light is softer and warmer than it is at midday.  Also, when the sun is lower, you can really showcase it and all of its flare!  After all, photography means "drawing with light." PS - Thanks for spending golden hour with me, Tony and Carly.  Looking forward to your wedding day.

Christina & Lucas: Lexington Engagement

We hopped in the car at the conclusion of this shoot and Gabe says, "That was intense."  He was right.  We shot in construction, the middle of the street, weeds, chiggers, and lightening for this engagement session.  Right when we finished it started raining.  I loved every minute of it though.  On the way home I wouldn't touch my legs even though they were itching like crazy because I was sure I had gotten poison ivy.  I got home and showered and, I am ashamed to admit, scrubbed my legs with a Clorox wipe.  I've never had it before!  Gabe laughed at me the whole time.  Thanks for being troopers, Christina and Lucas.  You were brave amongst the lightening bolts.

They could be models!

I love the car shot.  I was just clicking away as the traffic drove by and I found this little gem as we were reviewing the pictures.  Shout out to Gabe.  It was his idea to shoot the building.

Johanna & Robbs: Lexington Engagement

Johanna and Robbs were very laid back at Monday's shoot and I like it that way.  They  so relaxed with each other and I am glad this great quality shows through in their photos.  We shot at sunset and the light was just beautiful.  Johanna and Robbs were patient with us as we tried a couple tricks with the flash too.  That is one reason I love engagement shoots: I get to know my couples more and experiment with photography!  Their wedding will be held at their horse farm next month so just had to shoot at Keeneland to keep the theme alive.  Thanks guys!

Taylor & Bill: Louisville Engagement

It was hot but they still rocked it out.  Gabe and I walked/drove around downtown Louisville with Taylor and Bill for a couple hours and I am very pleased with all the fun photos we got.  Yay Louisville!  The city is growing on me.  We are in town quite a bit visiting Gabe's family and for photos shoots.  I am really liking it.  Everything but their growling cardinal mascot.  You put a cardinal and a wildcat in a room together who do you think would win?  :)
